UEDA Sensei Jodo Seminar 2026


Ojika NI is happy to announce a
two day Jodo seminar, led by
Ueda Kayoko Sensei, Kyoshi Hachidan, and
organised in collaboration with both the
British Kendo Association, and Kendo na
hEireann.

The seminar will take place at
the Royal Belfast Academical Institution,
Belfast, on the 18th and 19th of April, with
a grading on the 19th.


This is the second time that Ueda
Sensei has visited the island of Ireland,
and we are very excited to welcome her
back. As one of the leading Jodoka in
Japan, her teaching and instruction is
invaluable, and so we warmly invite both
beginners, and experienced Jodoka to
attend.


When?
The seminar will take place on the 18th (Saturday) and 19th (Sunday) of April, 2026.

Royal Belfast Academical Institution, College Square East, Belfast, BT1 6DL.

Grading:
There will be a grading on the Sunday, 19th of April.
Information on the grading will follow. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like
to receive this.

Getting around the City Centre:
Belfast City Centre is highly walkable.
If you wish to explore further afield, Translink metro services operate outwards from the city
centre, in 12 main routes, with various branches. It is easiest to use their journey planner, but a
visual map can be found here.
To and From Belfast City Airport:
By Bus to Belfast Grand Central
The airport 600 leaves in each direction every 35 minutes and takes ~25 minutes.
To and From Belfast International Airport:
By bus to Belfast Grand Central
The airport express 300 leaves in each direction every 20 minutes and takes ~50 minutes.
